ABOUT US
As of January 2020 we have opened our doors to over 100 students and 12 staff members and we continue to grow everyday.
The school is the initiative of its two founders, Mr. Amandus Jordan Tembo and his wife Dr. Ludmila McLean, and it is now in its implementation stage. About 30% of the project has been executed and this phase includes four blocks with 14 classrooms, multipurpose hall, kitchen, store, five washrooms and five showers each for male and female pupils, another two washrooms for staff, and two washrooms for disabled children. The necessary furniture for about 200 students has also been purchased.
The school’s administration also purchased a school bus and hired a bus driver whose duty is to collect children from remote areas and drive them to school, which has been a success for our school. There are also two security guards, one chef who is responsible for our daily breakfast and lunch program and one school director. The capital invested up to date is the equivalent to US$150,862, of which the majority has been provided by the two founders and also includes the monthly contribution of 80 000 Tzs or $50 US per pupil.
The school’s administration has also established the need for creating a number of Income Generating Activities (IGAs) as a long term sustainability plan, such as animal husbandry, sunflower production, fish ponds and factories (cheese, sausage and bakery). These IGAs will provide resources to be used for cooking healthy, balanced meals and will reduce the burden of ensuring daily needs for the school and for the community.
